The men's cluelessness about the references though was quite entertaining. The over excess of movie and pop culture references did start to irritate me a little due to the fact that not once did we hear her talk about watching movies or any other interest them. Instead of being cliche torchered souls or emotionally immature macho men, they are flirty and bashful, kind and hot tempered, playful and serious, layered and realistic people who I wouldn't be surprised to meet walking the condiments aisle of the supermarket. I found it had good balance between steamy, humorous and relationship development. Her ogling while frequent actually wasnt extreme or over done. Having a female lead that honestly saw that she wasn't ready and took a decent amount of time to sit with the prospect of her world turning on end before deciding what to do next was refreshing. To be honest I can understand why it had such a low rating but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. I was very excited to listen to this as the synopsis sounded epic but only had a 2.8 rating at the time I purchased it.
